Frequently Asked Questions

BROW FAQ's

Am I a good candidate for Semi-Permanent Brows?

An ideal client is someone who has normal to dry skin and no health issues. Clients with more oily skin will be encouraged to receive a Powder Brow.

Who is NOT a good candidate for Semi-Permanent Brows?

Contradictions may apply to certain clients, however you are NOT a good candidate if you answer yes to any of the following:

  • Under 18
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have uncontrolled diabetes
  • A history of keloid scarring
  • Accutane (must be off of treatment for a full year)
  • Had an organ transplant
  • Epilepsy
  • Very Oily Skin
  • Had Botox within 4 weeks of appointment
  • Tanning Bed users
  • Sick with cold or flu-like symptoms
  • Have tested positive or exposed to Covid-19 within the last 3 weeks

If I am undergoing Chemotherapy can I get my Brows done?

We suggest that you wait at least 6 months after undergoing Chemotherapy to make an appointment. However, in special circumstances and with a doctors approval (required), we can offer services on clients undergoing chemotherapy. It is suggested that you schedule your appointment the furthest date from your most recent chemo treatment (or the day before your next chemo treatment). Again, a doctors note will be required for all appointments within 1 year of undergoing chemotherapy.

  • Owner and Artist Mary Michael lost her mother to colon cancer at 10 years old and is aware of the challenges associated with Chemotherapy and hair loss. One of the most rewarding aspects her work is helping to return a sense of normalcy to women who find themselves in this situation. Discounts will be provided to clients who are affected by Chemotherapy treatment.

Are Semi-Permanent Brows the same as a tattoo?

NO! Semi-Permanent Brows are much less invasive than eyebrow tattoos. Semi-Permanent Brows only reach the upper layers of the dermis, whereas tattooing goes much deeper into the skin’s surface.

Why do I have to come back for a 6-8 week touch up?

Because Semi-Permanent Brows only enter the upper layers of the dermis, there will be areas that fade. This is normal. Microblading and Combination brows ALWAYS require a touch up. Powder Brow touch ups will be determined at appointment based on skin type and lifestyle.

Are Semi-Permanent Brows painful?

Pain is relative, but we have yet to have a client who was unable to complete a service because of pain. There is a ‘first brow pass’ that is done without numbing, after which clients will receive a numbing ointment.

If I’ve had my brows done by a previous artist, can I get them covered up at IrresistiBROW?

Sometimes. If you are looking to get a touch up or brow cover up from a service performed by a previous artist we will require a clear photo of your brows without makeup. If you have any scarring, severe color or shaping issues, we will not be able to cover-up or touch-up your brows. We do not do “touch-ups” on other artists work. If it is your first time getting your brows done at our studio, you will be charged for a full appointment. Additionally, if you do choose not to go with our Artist’s suggestion of service and decide to change your service at your touch up, you will be charge for a full appointment (This is generally only applicable for those with oily skin who want Microblading- oily skin generally does not take Microblading well causing it to completely fade. Powder Brows are the best option for oily skin.)

How long are the appointments?

Appointments range from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours. Microblading and Powder Brows generally take 2 hours. Combination Brows can take up to 2.5 hrs. Touch ups generally take 1.5 hours. Annual touch ups take about 2 hours.

How will my brows look immediately after my appointment?

The healing process is 10 days. The first day your brows may be red and swollen, which will go down within 24 hours. The first 3 days your brows will appear the darkest. Around day 5-6 your brows will begin to lighten up and likely start flaking. You can expect your healed result around day 10.

How long will my brows last?

Microblading lasts about 8 months-1 year. Powder brows last about 1-1.5 years. Combination Brows last about 1-1.5 years. Longevity may differ depending on skin type and lifestyle.

Who determines my brow shape?

We both do! Artist Mary Michael will work with each client individually to achieve desired shapes and realistic expectations. NO procedures will begin until we have the clients approval.

Do you provide consultations?

Consultations are built into the beginning of every appointment. Although you must choose a service while booking, we will discuss what look you are trying to achieve in addition to what service is best for your skin type and lifestyle. We encourage our clients to bring photos of brows they like. If you are unsure of Semi-Permanent Brows, we offer over the phone consultations to answer any and all questions.

Is there parking at your establishment?

Yes! Parking is free.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes. There is a waiting room located in the lobby of Salon Studios Marietta. We do not allow friends or family members to enter the studio during appointments unless special assistance is required or specified by a doctor.

Can I wear makeup to my appointment?

Yes. We will remove the makeup around your brow area.

Do I need to have my brows plucked, threaded or waxed before my appointment?

No. It is suggested that you do not get your brows waxed or threaded at least 1 week before your appointment
