Frequently Asked Questions

Lip Blushing FAQ's

Am I a good candidate for Lip Blushing?

  • An ideal client is someone who has normal to dry skin, moisturized lips and no health issues.

Who is NOT a good candidate for Lip Blushing?

Contradictions may apply to certain clients, however you are NOT a good candidate if you answer yes to any of the following:

  • Under 18
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have uncontrolled diabetes
  • A history of keloid scarring
  • Accutane (must be off of treatment for a full year)
  • Had an organ transplant
  • Epilepsy
  • Birthmarks or port-wine stains on lips
  • Chapped lips (we can not provide lip blushing until the lips are moisturized)
  • Herpes Simplex Present- can treat once outbreak has healed atleast 6 weeks. Must consult with your doctor.
  • Lip fillers within the last 4 weeks
  • Tanning Bed users
  • Sick with cold or flu-like symptoms
  • Have tested positive or exposed to Covid-19 within the last 3 weeks

Is Lip Blushing the same as a tattoo?

  • NO! Lip blushing is much less invasive than a tattoo. Lip blushing only reach the upper layers of the dermis, whereas tattooing goes much deeper into the skin’s surface.

Why do I have to come back for a 6-8 week touch up?

  • Because Lip Blushing only enters the upper layers of the dermis, there will be areas that fade. This is normal. It is rare, but clients with more oily, thin or sensitive lips may require a third touch up.

Is Lip Blushing painful?

  • Pain is relative. On a scale of 1-10 , 10 being the most painful, most clients would rate a Permanent Brow Service a 1-3 and a lip blushing service a 3-6. We will numb your lips before the treatment and continue to numb through the treatment to keep our clients as comfortable as possible.

How long are the appointments?

  • Appointments range from 2 hours to 3 hours. Touch ups generally take 1.5 hours to 2 hours. Annual touch ups take about 2.5 hours.

If I’ve had my lips done by a previous artist, can I get them covered up at IrresistiBROW?

  • Sometimes. If you are looking to get a touch up or lip blush cover up from a service performed by a previous artist we will require a clear photo of your lips without makeup. If you have any severe color or shaping issues, we will not be able to cover-up or touch-up your lips. Additionally, we do not do “touch-ups” on other artists work. If it is your first time getting lip blushing at our studio, you will be charged for a full appointment.

How will my lips look immediately after my appointment?

  • Your lips will be strongly colored and sharply defined for 3 – 7 days after your appointment. You can expect swelling and redness days 1-3 following your appointment. Flaking and scabbing is to be expected around day 3-5.

How long will my lip blushing last?

  • Lip blushing can last 2-5years however, if you want to maintain an up-to-date, vibrant look, we suggest a color boost every 1-2 years. Longevity differs depending on skin type and lifestyle.

Do you provide consultations?

  • Just like our brow services, consultations are built into the beginning of every appointment. Before each appoint we will try on multiple lip colors, discuss different types of lip blushing styles and shape.
