Frequently Asked Questions

Brow FAQ's

Am I a good candidate for PMU Brows?

An ideal client is someone who has normal to dry skin and no health issues.

Who is NOT a good candidate for PMU Brows?

Contradictions may apply to certain clients, however you are NOT a good candidate if you answer yes to any of the following:

  • Under 18
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have uncontrolled diabetes
  • A history of keloid scarring
  • Accutane (must be off of treatment for a full year)
  • Had an organ transplant
  • Epilepsy
  • Very Oily Skin
  • Had Botox within 4 weeks of appointment
  • Tanning Bed users
  • Sick with cold or flu-like symptoms

If I am undergoing Chemotherapy can I get my Brows done?

We suggest that you wait at least 6 months after undergoing Chemotherapy to make an appointment. However, in special circumstances and with a doctors approval (this is required), we can offer services on clients undergoing chemotherapy. It is suggested that you schedule your appointment the furthest date from your most recent chemo treatment (or the day before your next chemo treatment). Again, a doctors note will be required for all appointments within 1 year of undergoing chemotherapy.

Are PMU Brows the same as a tattoo?

No, Permanent Makeup is less invasive than tattoos. Permanent makeup only reaches the upper layers of the dermis, whereas tattooing goes much deeper into the skin’s surface. With that being said, PMU Brows do not last forever but are still a long-term commitment.

Why do I have to come back for a 6-8 week touch up?

Because PMU Brows only enter the upper layers of the dermis, there will be areas that fade. This is normal.

Are Semi-Permanent Brows painful?

Pain is relative, but we have yet to have a client who was unable to complete a service because of pain. There is a ‘first brow pass’ that is done without numbing, after which clients will receive a numbing ointment.

How long are the appointments?

Appointments range from 1.5 hours to 3 hours.

If I’ve had my brows done by a previous artist, can I get them covered up at IrresistiBROW?

Sometimes. If you are looking to get a touch up or brow cover up from a service performed by a previous artist we will require a clear photo of your brows without makeup. If you have any scarring, severe color or shaping issues, we will not be able to cover-up or touch-up your brows.

How will my brows look immediately after my appointment?

The healing process is 10 days. The first 3 days your brows will appear the darkest. Around day 5-6 your brows will begin to lighten up and may start flaking. You can expect your healed result around day 10.

How long will my brows last?

PMU Brows generally last about 1 year – 1.5 years before needing a Color Boost. Longevity may differ however, depending on skin type and lifestyle.

Who determines my brow shape?

We both do! Artist Mary Michael will work with each client individually to achieve desired shapes and realistic expectations. No procedures will begin until we have the clients approval.

Do you provide consultations?

Consultations are built into the beginning of every appointment where we will discuss what look you are trying to achieve in addition to what service is best for your skin type and lifestyle. We encourage our clients to bring photos of brows they like. If you have questions before your appointment, we offer over the phone consultations.

Is there parking at your establishment?

Yes! Parking is free.

Can I wear makeup to my appointment?

Yes. We will remove the makeup around your brow area.

Do I need to have my brows plucked, threaded or waxed before my appointment?

No. It is suggested that you do not get your brows waxed or threaded at least 1 week before your appointment
